In Lanaken, the roof of a social housing unit was renovated and insulated without completely removing the roof. A collaboration between Wonen in Limburg, Biesmans Group and V&B Dakwerken led to an innovative, circular solution with minimal disruption to the residents.
The existing EPDM roofing, still perfectly serviceable after 20 years, was loosened, rolled and reinstalled after adding additional insulation. Thanks to the BossCover Circular System with its patented Certefix snap-on solution, the EPDM was easily and completely disassembled back in place - without glue.
The approach was not only sustainable, but also cost-effective:
This successful pilot project demonstrates that circular construction with EPDM is technically feasible and economically advantageous. A follow-up project is already in the works.
