Concept

EPDM cuttings recycled into unique roof tiles

When you're working on a roof, you often (of necessity) take back a lot of leftover material. Even if you cut EPDM at prefab in a workshop, you can't use everything. That's something you have to get rid of. And that you have to pay to have it processed.

We do want some of your cutting scraps. At least, all your clean cut offs EPDM. Granted, you will have to sort that EPDM and bring it in to one of our branches. If you want to get rid of a large quantity at once, we can also arrange for us to come and pick up the material in big bags. From then on, we will take over.

So be sure to read on and find out what we do with your EPDM trimmings....

Why we don't mind retrieving your cuttings?

SUSTAINABility

Sustainability is the guiding principle of Tectum Group's policy, the company that markets BossCover. We aim to make a difference in the future with sustainable products and services.

INNOVATION

All our innovations aim to make the building envelope more sustainable. That means two things: using the appropriate materials and applying those materials in demountable systems.

RENEWABLE

With this initiative, we are preventing the loss of a high-quality raw material. EPDM is derived from petroleum. Reducing our "carbon footprint" is essential considering the climate change. Using non-renewable raw materials sparingly should be our priority!

goal

You contribute to environmental protection while saving costs

By sorting out the clean EPDM cuttings from your waste disposal, you save a significant amount of money annually while also contributing to a better environment. For further processing, it is important that the collected EPDM is suitable for recycling in the processing unit. Therefore, it is crucial that the EPDM you provide us with is clean, i.e.:

  • free of any adhesive residues, primers, etc.

  • no self-adhesive or reinforced EPDM

  • without coating or underlayer

You will recognize the collection point by the specially designed Big Bag.

Process

This is how we proceed

Circular process

We collect all clean EPDM from different building sites. These are collected in specially designed Big Bags.

We make something out of it

Once we have collected enough clean EPDM we get to work. We have the EPDM cuttings ground into 6 mm granules so that they can be used in the process of manufacturing the roof tiles.

BossCover RoofTile XL

By processing the clean EPDM granules, we create a completely new product, our BossCover Rooftile XL.

  • 30 kg heavy

  • 1x1 m in size

  • 40 mm thick

  • 100% recycled EPDM

Why?

The utility of rubber roof tiles

Due to their weight, these tiles do not need to be glued. After their lifetime, they can therefore be perfectly recycled again. Then the circle is complete. But that is only for many years from now....

  • The tiles do not need to be glued.

  • They are heavy enough so they stay in place without attachment

  • Quick and easy installation.
